      Tab

Stosstruppe probably has a lot more experience with SS items than myself, but I DO have a lot of experience with SA tabs - I think the tab may be good, BUT............let's hear what people think about the litzen - If the experts are ok with that litzen, then I'd be more sure the tab is ok. I'm just not familiar with SS litzen. I like the way the piping is sewn, I like the thread, and I like the buckrum. I'm curious what others say.

We have both commended on the rank tab above.
What really puts me off is the tint of browning of the tab.
Secondly the pips are either very early as these are nothing I have seen before quite cheaply made compared to others I would say.
And as clearly pointed out the tresse ... This could be SA this wouldn't be the first time I have seen this done.
But there are just too many red flags for me .... and as we know this isn't a cheap hobby so I would wait until another one pops up that's as right as rain
        Just being cautious
        Regards
        David

          Tab

I see what you mean about the pips - the recesses on the edges are curved. If the litzen is silver, it's probably not SA - SA litzen is black/white, etc., but not black/silver. I will defer to your judgement. Let's see if others concur.

            Looking at the piping.
This is not the regular type.
See how it is frayed on the reverse(fluffy ends)

              Piping

Now that you mention the piping, it looks like it's too smooth, and the yellowing looks abnormal. I would expect it to be either aluminum-colored, or a more blackish oxidized color. i'll leave it to the others....
