Fake eagle and fake shield sewn onto a remnant of cloth.

    Just my opinion obviously.

Thanks Nick - I forgot about the tall A feature. Found an authentic one below.

The owner was not selling this but sent photos of his collection to me just to look at. He had some other dodgy items in his collection as well and I don't think he appreciated me telling him...

                Thanks to everyone who responded.

Tony, that fake sleeve eagle was the next generation after the Bigfoot and the shield dates back to at least the early 80's to my certain knowledge, these failed the melt test.

Thanks Ian. I knew the eagle was crap -looks like fake aging too - but forgot the tall A test on the shields.

Unfortunately the owner won't listen to any of this. He's one of the "I've been collecting for 30years and know my stuff" types.

old story anout the shield...the shield that started this topic,,one was sold to a WAF member in England by a big English dealer. New owner immediately said it a fake and wanted his money back. Big Dealer said too bad its yours.
Owner took him to court in England. He had all sorts of evidence photos, quotes from forums etc...
Courts said that its the same size, material, etc as what was being called authentic,,that maybe there was a shield like that made and wham bam the shield was deemed authentic by a English court.

Yeah I vaguely remember that case - wasn't the dealer "Ulric of England"?
