Question about 8 year service medal ribbon

I picked up a nice 8 Year Service medal...but it does not have a ribbon Can someone tell me if the blue ribbon was specific to this medal or could I substitute any of the blue service ribbons?

You can use a ribbon from the 25 year nsdap long service award with back pin. It should be the same.

The ribbon may be the same width but the SS service awards didn't have the pin attachment did they ?

It would be a shame to wreck one original award (however 'lowly') to tart up another incorrectly, besides the Faithfull Service award ribbons are sewn together from the angle of the fold .
