Ss id disk....any chance it's period??

Hello folks. This was found amongst a much larger, mostly paper lot. Any chance it's a period ID disk? There ARE some striations in the holes, showing it spent some time on a cord or chain from the best I can tell w/ my loupe. A couple of shots below, and thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks for commenting Phil. I believe I've seen the "I" in both forms, but as I've handled very few ID disks, I'm hoping to get some feedback from those who're more "in the know" than I regarding these ID disks. Thanks!

This exact font and style of lettering (all upper case, no serifs) is the most common type of letter punch set found in the USA today.

Hi Chris. Interesting. Do you find this the case even w/ the "base-less" number 1's? As this piece came in a mixed lot, I can't speak to its pedigree. I have a few others that came with it that may be ok, however this is the only one that is SS. Thx for your reply.
