I always enjoy viewing various threads on the forum but seldom seem to have enough available time to participate on the level to which I would like, so I want to make a contribution and show these two pieces in my collection. I was initially hesitant since my photography is typically not on the level to which I would prefer but I believe this batch came out quite nice.
Both retain their original period applied insignia. The cap eagles are particularly scarce in their own right, and the smaller version skull is a rare variation. These comparative views will illustrate the manufacturer differences, which can be seen in the material type and coloration, vent positions, and insignia varieties, each being what one should see for these specific makers. Anyone who is familiar with this type cap will recognize these finer details.
Well, I hope you will enjoy the images. I feel this type of cap has far more visual appeal than the run of the mill M43 in feldgrau wool, not to mention being a very infrequently encountered cap.
