    SS M43 fieldcap

Hello what do you think of this one? This cap does not have an eagle at the side but only an bevo scull at the front. This cap really has seen the action!

Can't comment on much because I'm not a real SS collector but the TK is mint and the cap is really dirty. To me it suggests the thing is another put together.

                  Jack,

Good observation. In fact, this joker posted the bevo TK a week ago for opinions on the other forum before sewing it on this m-43 cap.
He was also trolling for a bevo cap eagle to match. This is scary stuff!
Here is a picture of the skull on the other forum before PHOEF, barn stormer extrordinaire, got his thread and needle out. Notice the crappy job of attaching it to the cap also.
So gee whiz, if I take all my loose bevo skulls and start sewing them on some m-43 caps which have no insignia, I can churn out WSS caps all day long.
This guy is like the Michael Meyers of this hobby!

I just wanted to know what you think of the combination, I am keeping this one and I am NOT going to sell it. I just am very glad that I finally could get a nice original and well used M43 fieldcap to put that bevo scull to. I suppose that is not a crime?

Holy cow Jerry a nice bit of detective work there

Someone who falls for that cap or anyone who puts a cap together like that must be pretty stupid! You might think that anyone with an ounce of common sense would match the condition of the cap with a TK in similar condition at least!

                      Thanks, from Jack.

it might be possible very well that this decal was applied post-war. It is hand stiched to the cap and I cannot see if there have been stiched other decals to this cap before.
You are counting on that now aren't you?

YEAH RIGHT I don't know why you still get opinions from collectors but you certainly won't get mine.

                          Good work Jerry

Please explain, why should I buy a cap for a hughe amount of money and not knowing whether the decals are original to the cap or postwar applied. I think, in this case, it is more wise to buy all original items separate and than sew original decals with original thread to an original cap, this saves you a lot of money and at least you are sure what you have and where it comes from.

                              Okay, I will explain:

You lied in the above post.

I want to own one of those original nice post war WWII nice m-43 caps!
