    SS Sleeve Eagle, wehrmacht eagle?

    Isnt that a Wehrmacht eagle on the SS officer's sleeve? Was this common?

    Does not look like a Wehrmacht eagle...more like a diplo's or gov. officials' in my opinion...I don't think this was too common, but I have seen this quite a bit on Alg. SS em visors.

      It could also be the very rare dress-cape eagle

          The pattern does look like the SS cape eagle. One would have to see if it is also the right size.

              That is Fritz Klingenberg. Yes a strange looking eagle. It also looks like he has no rank tab.. , G.

                I confirm the guy indentified by Gaspard . This photo takes place in the book " Division Das Reich im Bild " - Otto Weidinger.

                The lengend says : "Commander of the motorcycle infantry, SS Hauptsturmführer Klingenberg pins the Iron Cross 1st Class on a courageous soldier". No rank insignia on the tunic.
