I am interested in this SS tunic but I want some opinions on it. I cant download any of the pics because the site wont allow me to. The Treasure Bunker is the site selling the tunic. The tunic itself is good but very salty; the eagle is not period IMO.

Ya..... I was afraid of that, do you think the insignia does not show enough age compared to the tunic? That would be my guess. Thank you for your reply.

Jacket + chevron are original , eagle not .
Price is ok for the jacket as you can easily find a WSS yellow bevo eagle
as replacement in case of ?

What do you think this jacket is worth? I have that eagle you are talking about, but I couldn't imagine applying it to the jacket to make it correct.

Hi Stephen, the price is ok for the condition off the jacket. Nick has mention replacing the sleeve eagle, that shouldn't be a problem, or did you mean sewing it on? I found a good seamstress, and she had a good sewing machine that you could space the tread out, to match as it was done back in the period, also buy some original tread as well.

Is the eagle a repo for sure or is it an original, just not the style that is supposed to be attached to the tunic?

Eagle is a repro for sure and should be " Textbook" in yellow ...

Hi Guys ,

thanks for the positive feedback on the tunic

bit surprised though that you think the eagle is a copy.

To me this is just an early eagle,here are eight textbook eagles I randomly found on the forum, all eight have variations , the head , feathers etc. this is because they were manufactured during different periods, in fact one of the eagles posted here has the early talons although is a variation.

I had this tunic in my personal collection over 20 years ago and have never had a problem with the insignia.
