Der Spiess rank question

as ss ranks are not my strong point and im courios abaut after a talk with a collector friend last weekend, so spiess rank in SS was always senior NCo as my friend say? or a junior nco like USCHA may hold that rank? my friend say no way for uscha but i think i have seen in the past a photo of a guy with one pip on collar tab and spiss tresse on arms.

The title was an honorific as the company "first sergeant" for lack of a better term. I know that I have seen several DS "piston rings" on Heer Feldwebel tunics, so I could certainly see a Oberscharführer holding that position. Not sure about a Scharführer - I've not seen many Unterfeldwebel tunics, period, and none with DS rings.
