    Chest

I like that Chest better Thorsten.

Willy Jr's looks like something you would find at the head of a Waterbed circa. 1977.

Here is the page out of Weitzel´s SS family book describing how the Jul- und SS-Ecke in the household of the SS family ought to look like.

According to that the SS family chest was a key piece and one simply had to have it better sooner than later.

In a late SS-Leitheft this is described as the "Gotteswinkel" with some nice pics attached!

The absolute killerpiece is the SS-Sippenschrein of SS-Obergruppenführer Schmauser - commander of SS-Oberabschnitt Südwest in Mainz.

Look at all the stunning carved rural and folkish motifs - simply amazing!

As soon as I took pics of my copy - no problem.

There is one pic of a cool wrought iron Sippenzeichen (SS family sign) fixed at the outside of an SS family home near the door - that´s a real gem.
That piece is also visable in Richard Breitmanns book: "Himmler".

I kinda' like both, honestly . . . I'm told you've "been around for a while" - do you happen to have any of these "waterbed headboards" [let's not forget. circa 1977] . . . examples of equal magnitude, haphazardly lying around - ready to sell? I would expect a bargain from you, of course . . .

I also like them both - whether dure or more luxuriously carved.

This second type of the DHW SS Jul chest is another highlight.

Yes, here is a Jul Chest I carved into a water board headboard and re-stained. I added some curves to get rid of that squarish 3rd Reich look. I also removed the doors and tossed them aside, too many cheesy carvings. Keep this between us, I don't want to upset these Cultural Egghead Types.

Got some better pics of the SS family chest - Sippentruhe.

Base of the SS religion was here and now, their definition was to be the guardian of the good blood.

Therefore you cannot expect the adoration of the virgin Mary being the center of this religious piece but the adoration of mother and child as the breeding goal to preserve the good blood as they defined it from their point of view.

This chest has been manufactured in the city of Enger - birthplace of the duke of the Saxons: Widukind.

It is hard to top the aura of these pieces - they tell us more about the religious agenda and beliefs of the SS than any book, teacher or documentation on TV nowadays ever could.

Every carved detail and the whole artistic composition are expressions of their agenda and ideas.
The Sechsstern, the hearts, the grapes, the dedication - altogether they show us the bigger picture.

A germanic altar for practizing the new religion in the SS household.

Details of the SS Jul chest Type I: Grapevine in shape of the Irminsul.

In christian religion the grapevine is the symbol of Jesus.

Here we see it´s pre-christian counterpart within the religion of the SS.

That right pictured door looks like it was made yesterday.

                                There are no doors.

And if you prefer ground dug condition feel free to move on.

This SS Sippentruhe was made in 1940.
