is this indicative of a senior NCO rank when worn on the lapels and collar and would corresponding tresse be present on the shoulderboards. thanks!

I've never seen an example of tresse worn on the lapels; tresse on collar only is correct.
But yes, tresse on a collar was worn by NCOs; lower and senior. Rank tab on the left collar in WSS along with shoulder straps would indicate level of NCOs rank. Also, two strips of tresse on each sleeve of an NCO tunic constituted "Der Spiess", or "top sergeant."Last edited by herrgeezer; 02-27-2014, 09:30 PM.
