    Questionable overseas cap

    I have this in hand, and it looks/smells old, and to my novice eyes the piping and lining look ok(though the writing is pretty bizarre), though the wool is less than convincing. Does this stand any chance, or is it just an old fake?

        It's an early repro in my view...I also looked at it in the Bazaar section where it was offered...

          Thanks Nick, I appreciate it, you are the king of finding unusual and rare things for bargain prices because people don't know what they are, so if you say it's no good I believe it! I did notice the lettering, but I thought it would be exactly how a GI would spell a name like that if it was for POW purposes, seems like that was a red herring. Thanks for linking to that thread too btw, I didn't find it in my searching.

            I don't think that you'll get a no question authentic SS side cap at only $100. At least I know that I wouldn't sell one.
