    Re: Manion's Auction House

Manion's website has been down since 1/6. At first, users were directed to the "list it yourself" auctions. Now a click on the Manion's website automatically brings up the "list it yourself," auctions.

Does anybody have any info as to what is going on with Manion's?

It sure looks like they are out of business.

I noticed that too and was wondering about it... but did not post a question because I hardly ever buy from them anymore...
Very limited inventory and plenty of fakes...a sinking ship...and many consigners are not getting their funds in a timely matter (90 days)...or not at all even...
So why give Manions the business by bidding...if they don't pay out their consignors! That's what I am hearing (reading) on the web...a sinking ship...(sunk already?)
One comment from that thread that stood out: It`s not robbing Peter to pay Paul here, it`s gone 20, 30 people beyond Peter.

Here's another (lengthy) thread on them from another forum: (they are unloading stuff on ebay)

      Hi,

      Manion's message from January 7 :

We are experiencing some technical issues with our website. We have a team working to resolve this issue. Thanks for your patience as we work to fix this issue with the website. Please know that our customer service department will not be available during this period as we can't access all information necessary to resolve customer issues.

      Manion's message from January 8 :

On Monday of this week, the server that our website runs on suffered a significant malfunction. The malfunction caused the operating system to corrupt which in turn took down our website.

Our data is safe as it is stored on a separate server. Your information is safe but unaccessible from the internet at this time.

While we troubleshoot and attempt to rebuild our website, we will begin running new auction items on our Listityourselfauctions.com website.

As this event has had an impact on our operations, please use our email collecting@manions.com if you have any questions and we will try to respond as quickly as possible.

      Manion's message from January 9 :

As our primary website is still down, please refer to our www.lisityourselfauctions.com website for current offerings. Until our primary website is back online, we will be pointing all traffic from manions.com to www.listityourselfauctions.com

Listityourselfauctions.com has not only our offerings, but others as well. Similar to eBay you can buy and sell person to person as well as from us.

There are lower fees associated with selling and for our bidders, no buyers premium.

      See You

      Vince

Who cares if their website is down? Having read those complaints as well as comments here on WAF and the net in general - it amazes me that anyone would even consider doing business with Manions.

              Hi,

              Manion's message from January 14 :

Due to the website crash last week of www.manions.com we will be moving all of our offerings to www.listityourselfauctions.com for the foreseeable future.

www.listityourselfauctions.com is a full featured person to person marketplace where you can buy and sell collectibles only. Similar to eBay but without the restrictions and with lower fees.

manions.com customers will need to re-register on www.listityourselfauctions.com to utilize the site for both buying and selling.

If you have any problems, please contact us at collecting@manions.com

Bad souls will say that this is not a coincidence.

              See You

So their website crashed and it is beyond recovery, no backups, and none of the other million or so website providers can get them back up and running in over a week. Yeah, I believe that.

Manions became a disgrace, remained a disgrace for many years and surprisingly it's apparent demise is also ... a disgrace.
