    SS boards currently on e-stand

I could be wrong or better images are needed, but from what I am able to observe, these boards which are currently on e-stand: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=712083 have POST-WAR tress on them, I make it a point to study EM/NCO boards and the various types of tress utilized. I would be most interested to hear the opinion of other members.

I'm curious as well, here I have the same pair with a different rank!
    What are the opinions?

I think a whole bus load of doubts could be entertained. Wait for an expert though

The boards were originally purchased from the Collectors Guild (if I remember correctly) by a collector who sold them to me. Some time back I put them back for sale on the Guild but because they did not move for many months, I thought I try E-stand. If these boards are considered problematic I would be happy to remove them from the E-stand.

Erik, is the Tresse aluminium/metalic or synthetic?

Elongated diamonds were used pre 45 is the word on WAF

Thanks for the link DMV Very helpful.

The Tresse on my boards is definately aluminium and not synthetic.

Elongated diamonds were indeed utilized. However, the ovreall look of these boards (the ones posted on e-stand) to include the texture differ significantly from the wartime 'elongated' diamond tress. Keep in mind that early post-war tress (late 50's and 60's) were indeed metalic, unlike the later 70' and 80's tress which were not.

Since you have studied it and know more then me about tresse, is it possible you could post close up comparison photo's of pre 1945 elongated tresse vs. early post war metallic tresse?
                What to look for?

Here is a very good example of wartime 'elongated' tress: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...nch+der+spiess

Thanks for the input guys. To stay on the safe side I will remove the boards from the E-stand.

I have had a similar Feldgendarmerie pair in the past and believe they where found in a bunch years ago, of course they were said to be originals at the time.

Thing that would plead for them IMO, why are these always appear to have orange piping, why no other - more commonly wanted - branches if you would fake them?
