Hi guys, I bought this beauty with a bunch of other stuff from a vet's son. The vet was in 8thAirforce and flew a pathfinder for the bombers over Europe. Aluminum SS eagle made by Assmann. Marked "SS" "RZM" and "155/38".

I agree...nice vet scored eagle....and super scoop....it doesn't get any better than that. Did he tell you any more about where his dad got the eagle, or what field he flew out of, and which bomb group he supported ?

He didn't know where his dad got the stuff because it was a very small lot that was a part of a bunch of stuff he brought back. Hopefully in January I have a chance at the whole collection. We'll see. As far bomber group, I didn't ask. What a sexy bird!!!!!! I have the exact same one & its nothing short of a miracle all pins are still attatched! Mine has 1 pin left (behind wreath) Also you have to show utmost care even looking at it,the wreath is very flimsy as is the space between the beak & right wing. Still a super beauty! Great score! Lastly, you stand a high chance of going blind trying to view the markings,,,,,lol
