12 yr. SS Long Service Medal

I have no pictures but have a question. I recently had a chance to study an SS 12 yr. Service award. The person who owns it volunteers at our VA hospital and occasionally is given items by veterans and he supposedly was given this award by one of them a few months ago.

This example was constructed per what I have read regarding proper standards such as the soldered teardrop suspension ring, the SS runes on the ribbon in bullion, and was equipped with a sewn on bar pin etc. The detail was superb, and definately die struck. My question though is this. Was the wreath soldered to the swastika, & were they ever marked 900 on the teardrop loop?

    Thanks,

    Chuck

The wreath was never a separate attachment. It was a one piece die strike. There was never a silver mark on the loop.

A two piece medal is post war Souval.
