Here's one for discussion. This is a ME Runic Tab backed on wool but notice the runes are not central. No evidence of an unpicked number. Runes are narrow and construction suggests early war. Thoughts

Nice looking tab. I collect more of the wartime examples, so I can only speculate. Unfinished? Soldier's preference?...I owned an officer's like this once, but there had clearly been evidence of a former 'B' for Braunschweig or '3' for Der Fuehrer...Best, John

Here is an example i have which is hand embriodered there is no trace of an emblem on this example that i can see
