Baumann seems to have been hit himself and gives a first person view of what a wounded soldier might have seen...interesting...

BTW, does anybody know of any photogs listed on this site that are more famous than any others? People who shot a lot of photos in action, good exposures, composition, etc.?

This is an interesting photo! A German Volksdeutscher forced to serve in the Red army and then (after escape, I guess) volunteer in the Waffen-SS.
