    Hi Guys!

Got this photo, and my question is, could one find out who this is?

Inscription on the back of the photo:
"Ragusa sommer 1944... auf den marsch ... für gebirgstruppen...tirana, Albanien" (...=unreadable)

        Different decorations
Man seems to have a minor cleft chin in the first photo.
        Slighty different build.
I don't know that its the same man.
Maybe your right Ben he may just be looking a bit worn out and not wearing all his medals in the second photo.

          Martin Stange?

Finally, maybe is Martin Stange! 7 SS GebirgJager division Prinz Eugen and later SS Nibelungen Division. In the picture "Raguse" is the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia.

First, the ears do not match at all and the Obersturmführer in the first pic has a clearly defined cleft chin that is not visible in either of the other pics. Additionally, the officer in the first pic is not in my opinion from the 7th SS Gj Division Prinz Eugen (PE). The cufftitle is not PE as it does not extend far enough to the left where "Prinz" would be visible. I think the officer is from the 6th SS Gj Division Nord. That is more in line with why we cannot see much text on the title at the angle the picture is taken from. He's also an Obersturmführer and the boards look like they have more going on than one pip on them meaning they could have a "6" for Nord. I have seen pics of that, but have never seen a pic of an officer with a "7" on a Waffen-SS board indicating PE.

                  Just my opinion.

Fwiw numbered pips don't indicate division. But I agree, not the same guy

                      Graham,

Thanks, but I know that. What I meant by the comment was that it looks like he has something else above the pip at the base of the board - probably a # cypher.

If you are referring to Martin Stange, I guess he wore red piping on his cap.
