      Check original ss tabs, if you don't have any consult the beaver/bando book on ss insignia, there are a few in that book. Then compare these pips to the pip types predominantly used by the wehrmacht and others.

      The type Dmv describes is the one often found on original ss tabs. The general rule is, the earlier the tab the more likely you will encounter this pip design. The later, the less likely or a mix. Of course all sorts of pips were used - especially from the midd war years on.

        And that does indeed not necessarily refer to the ss. As far as pips are concerned it refers merely to the RZM which controlled virtually all party branches.
