Questionable Officer Runic & Rank Tabs

    Hi Guys,

a Fellow Collector sent me this batch of photos, and asked me about them, really not my area, to me the black material does not look right, they look artificially aged, wrong backing unless they were late ones and the pins on the rank pips, look East German, am I wrong?

    Regards,
    Kevin

I am not an SS collector, but I do not like the wear patterns on that insignia at all. I would not touch them.

            Hi Guys,

I though so, just some people need more than one opinion, guess he'll get the point now when I send him the replies. I did like the pipe and cleaner too.

            Thanks,
            Kevin

I would have to agree looking at those photos .....
The pins look as if they have been painted/aged as you say " East German " ?
              Regards

The pipes and envelopes have been discussed as well and are also thought to be post War.

Can anyone please find a link that would educate me on the differences between East German postwar pips and wartime manufactured ones?

                    Please?

East German pips have round wire prongs.
