    SS armbands for review

I was wondering if anybody can tell me if the SS armband with red between the black and the os edge is the older of the two? Can you tell me about how old it is? I was also wondering if it is older, is it worth more than the "norm"? Thanks! John

Not sure on the first one, but I do like the second one. The construction is unusual, but I rarely if ever see proper machine chain stitching on reproductions...

Here is the inside. Are these both ok? I don't want people calling me out on estand!

I think they are probably both original. These lightweight armbands made for the brown shirt are generally early and came in more variations than the wool tunic armbands. Have you blacklighted them?

              SS armbands

I was told the one with the red outside the black band is very, very early. Was the guy full of beans that told me that?

I guess the lack of response means both of them are good, yes? I can put them on e stand without fear they will be challenged? Thanks for your answer Arran!

I'd go ahead and post them, and its entirely possible that the one with the "wrap-around" edge stripes is quite early...pm me with what you're asking for it!

I am getting good at stumping the forum. They were unsure of these armbands, and also my Danziger skulls. You will notice I didn't ask how much they were worth.

                      SS Reserve Armband

The armband that has the grey edge as opposed to the black edge are armbands that were awarded to reservist in the SS. It is some what rare but you can find this armband for in the $150-$250 price range, depending on condition, on many of the websites that this forum sponsors. Check em out.

Thanks for the well wishes. They must have worked. I just sold both of the SS armbands to the same collector.
