    Nice to see you might have found the makermark!
    All the best, Eric

      This would not contribute much, but maybe nice to tones
      Schoonhoven was actually a city of silversmiths.
      Here's an example from NSB magazine "Fotonieuws"

        Nice Jan! Yes it's from the town Schoonhoven no doubt where the majority of Dutch Master silver-smiths were concentrated.
        Neat article from a Dutch NSB publication. Big silver NSDAP eagle being crafted in stirling!!!

                Another amazing ring. WOW! That one also has Dutch hallmarks it appears.
                Can we get a close up of the maker mark, below the sword which is the silver (content) mark.

                    No luck finding that one... M.M * or N.N pentagon? (in a rectangular box). Sorry!
                    Many of these Dutch maker codes are very similar, Initials + sometimes numeric codes..and if these are partially worn off....
                    Really hard to decypher unfortunately...

                    Here some more examples that I found; (1930-1940 period Dutch master silver smiths)!
                    PO8=PvanOostrom
                    GS3=J&J.C.Seton
                    GH3=Gebr.T.J.Huisman
                    PR3=Gebr.vanRoosmalen
                    D.G=DPM.Gaillard (Schoonhoven)
                    G.B )=Fa.Gebr. Baardwijk
                    P.B.6=P.Baardwijk

                      Another important mark for battle for Holland rings...

                      Does anybody know the marker?

                        Bringing this old thread back to the top.

                        I ended up buying one of these rings a while ago.

                        As I understand it mine was found in a field in Austria (former POW holding facility...)
                        It was common for W-SS POW's to dump anything related to their branch of service...rings, soldbuch ID's, dog tags (erkennungsmarke) and of course strip their uniforms...

                            Thoughts?
                            Somebody claimed that these were faked in the 1950's and 1960's....??? and after consulting with an "expert" claimed that its a cast copy from that period...
                            NO WAY!!!
                            It has the Schoonhoven jewelry town maker stamp and war time date codes on the outside as common on Dutch Legion rings...

                              Even though the band is cracked and shows an old repair I am really pleased with it as otherwise it is in nice condition, with nice patina and can be easily fixed!
                              Thoughts?

                              Backside...
