Quite well done and would fool many..I have seen a few other officers jackets that were similar (fabric) but with insignia applied, with tailors label and were also quite convincing but the pin stripe sleeve lining was real rough to the touch and the fabric was thin and I believed those to be fakes as well.

The problem with anything private purchase is that any excuse can be made as to why a fake might be original because they are just that, private purchase so anything goes...The "cookie cutter" factory produced items are easier to authenticate as they were for the most part all manufactured the same and the fakes of these are also getting real scary.IMO

We bought these when they were available as they are some of the best repros that have been done. Yes issues with them (thankfully) but still nicely made tunics.
Also thankfully for those who own these items they are a particular shade of green/grey too that it is quite distinctive.

I have been having real probs getting photos on the forum lately. Here are the requested pics of the buttons and lining, plus hanger hole and makers label on flickr.

I almost can't believe that this tunic causes such a large discussion,
as David and others stated its a 100% Chinese made repro tunic mady by Chen (Ant-z/Pirschen..)
Though its nicely aged, after a small hint its just an easy to spot one!!!
It's a shame that this tunic ended up at ebay as wartime original but its not the first time this happens...
        Cheers, Kevin

It's only easy to spot if you have seen them before .I never handled higher end fake stuff other than Janke's. The fakes I handled wear made to fool collectors as originals and did. Glenn is right about the sleeve lining material and I have found this material in tunics sold as original by dastardly dealers out there whom we all know and can't stand.

              Really ..... That's enough surely
When the cost of this item to buy was only £75
Plus the fact the new owner has been done up like a kipper
              Scandalous
              Regards
              David

Anyone any objections if I put mine up for grabs as original .... ?

do you prefer topic of a stupid fake eagle and 12 replies as ?

finally we talking about something, this section (cause i frequent only SS sections) needs this kind of discussion, the patience and the taste to write something about a fake.

We can't know if the deal will be close, Andrea90 will inform us, for sure the tunic appear in ebay before received
