For the Trident of Vladimir collarpatch, Mike Melnyk, the author of the book "To Battle" believed that it was actually worn by the 14th Ukrainian SS division rear units. I believed Mike is still looking for a period photo worn by the Ukrainian SS men.

For the Karstdistel flower collar patch of the Karstjaeger division, Dr. Marco Novarese (Marco Nava's pseudonym) mentioned that it was manufactured and worn by the Karstjaeger members for a very short while but he was unable to find any photographic documentation of it that it was worn

Also, I saw pictures of the single horizontal bar with two short vertical bars collar patch on red tabs of the Belarusian SS brigade but I had never seen the same design on black tabs before. Does anyone has more info on this?

      Hi Askold

I saw some pictures (grainy but still visible) of the Belarussian double cross kragenspiegln but only on the red tabs, not on black ones.

      PM me

Wolf's head certainly worn and photographed in at least one instance.

I am not too sure on this but I read before somewhere that the Norwegian SS Polizei Skikompanie (different from the Den Norske Legion) wore the metallic Norwegian Lion (with an axe) on both sides of the collar patch. Is this true?

            Hi Paul

Do you mean the photo in Tony Munoz's The East Came West book?

                HI Paul

I saw that photo before but it is very small and not really visible. I am not sure if it is the Wolf's Head collar patch

I was thinking it could be the sword and shield (kindjzal) but I think it's very inconclusive to say it is the Wolf's head collar patch. But that's just my two cents

I would like to revise my earlier statement regarding the Belorussian tab. The black double-cross tab was indeed worn in both em and officer versions, however it was not worn by the SS but by the BKA - a Belaruss version of POA or YBB army and the Schuma battalions (wore red colored tabs).

Black officer cross tab in wear:

Not even close to being the kindjal, shape is different.Outline is clearly an outline of an animals head-certainly not indian and given the picture has Von Kremmpler/Kemmpler in it I would say it is more than conclusive.

                            Hi Paul

I think I misunderstood the photo you are talking about. Is it the same photo (I saw it at some forum before) with Muslim SS man at a grave site?

If it is not, is it possible you could post the photo at here?

                            Thanks

Irritatingly I don't have access to a copy of the picture right now, but although it would be nice to think it was the Wolf's Head patch, I'm actually fairly certain it's a distorted and slightly out of focus Prinz Eugen odalrune.

There is another enigmatic kragenspiegln worn by members of the Estonian SIPO/SD (just my opinion)

I saw a picture of them wearing the Estonian SS legion kragenspiegln on the right collar, however at the rank tab, there is a totenkopf. One of the personnel had a sturmman rank tab that has a totenkopf in it!

Does anyone had anymore info on these kragenspiegln?
