You could make a few caps like post 50 out of this 3/4 plane tree bolt that managed to survive:

The images of the strange pattern caps I posted in post number 50 and on the viewers right in post number 52, are of EK's being given to members of 12 SS Division.
These two members of this unit are wearing cammo caps made from Italian cammo. It seems that this unit had reversible cammo cap made the German way from Italian camo as well as one-sided custom made caps (like regular tropical caps) also made from the Italian cammo.
I did not think it would be this hard but here are a couple more images of this unit to help,

That's from the cap being worn inside out.
The music is questionable.
Best play Rhodesian combat songs.
This unit seems to have worn quite a lot of Italian cammo
Note the example made in tropical cap style on the right,
Chris
p.s. do you want some Rhodesian cammo Owen ?
I have a jacket and trousers from a guy who immigrated out here

More than one, they were brought back from an over-run store in the North of Italy by a New Zealand soldier who used them to paint houses after the war. I got the small ones that did not fit him or his kids had not wreaked. He also had KM tropical M42 caps
Also got one SS cammo from the "1960's" source that Jerome Blake was involved in. However, I got that via another collector,

Is there a pink With this crappola
??????
Here is a side by side comparison of one of my caps with one of your caps so all can see the finer detail that one only learns by handling all those caps and networking
Your cap is a wee bit "pink" Owen but I would not call it "pink with crappola" by any stretch of the imagination. Lets settle for "block and red/ brown brickie"

I can not believe you are still trying to work out the "Pink Smocks" Given all those networks and learning.
Thus in the other image, I have included another SS cammo cap which might also be beyond the realm/ base of many networks and learning. Just like the "Pink Smocks"
