someone has a SS "Dienstaltersliste" to check the name Schröder and the award date 20.4.44?

Personally ,...I don't care for the ring....and some may, but it has Too many red flags for me . Caveat emptor! CCis right, photos should be with the ring alone and no hands hiding the details on the sides.

I liked the worn ring recently posted more than this one...but if you are serious there are a few things you can do.

I would start : By making sure the seller could prove his claims 100%,and not without more than heresay as evidence,(check the name on his drivers licence or personal ID also, as it should be the same ) and if the "proof " (if any) seems promising (and he can prove he did have a dad in the ss), then you need to send it off at the owners expense to be sure to Mr. Boyle prior to getting serious about such a late ring.

It very well could be an original. We need to see closeups of the rune panels, and closeups of the inside engraving. Otherwise, insufficient data to come to a reasonable conclusion, as to originality.
