Why are threads closed with no reason being given? The recent thread entitled "oh come on" was closed without any information or justification being given.
The thread shows a blatant piece of forgery supported by astute observations regarding the images posted.
Without any kind of commentary I, as a viewer, I am now left to my own conjecture with regard to the motivation behind the closure.

More valuable yes, because of demand, but aesthetically more pleasing or rarer, no. Just because Himmler liked or approved it, is it desirable? To each his own, some of these carved wooden objects leave me cold - OTOH a 12 or 25 year service award or a full A-SS uniform are

these plates(in this discussion) are carved wood for the most part... As far as I know plating is a tech term as to somthing done with metals?

OK, it eludes you but the information is there, 1 minute 20s. Also if you look closely at one of the pictures Michael presented to show the carving was not complete, you can actually see there is no difference. All that you see is different photography, not different carving.

Maybe you are just over my head here ...but what does this photo you posted prove? you are not comparing this to the visibly different carving examples.
all you have it added some fake coloration where you wanted to.

Actually, and I would like to point out that I have no horse in the race, I think that the different appearance is owed to different angles and lighting.
