              Working this through logically ...

These were engraved while in a flat bar form so how could it be formed into a ring (the size which was made to order for the individual) and then engraved ?

Are you certain the recipient's name hasn't been polished out ?

              Ian

                    TK Ring

The ring is a fake - guaranteed. The 2nd photo in Post #2 proves this, among other things that are wrong. Look at the relationship of the top of the Swastika Rune to the border. And there are at least 4 other experts who agree with me:

                      TK Ring

The likely reason there's no name is because they probably messed it up. No one goes to the trouble to make such a ring, inscribe the Himmler signature, inscribe the date, and then leave the name blank? It's only a guess, but they likely ground off the name for the reason I suggested, hoping their project would still be salvagable, under the false assumption that people might think it was a real ring, but that the name had yet to be inscribed. All of my assertions are based on the fact that the ring is fake, so I'll do Don Boyle one better - I'll officially give it my COAF (Certificate Of Authentic Fake). The casting line in the same photo and lack of a joiner line are just 2 of many things that show these guys have a long way to go before being employed by the Gahr firm.

Another possibility is that it could be a Berthold Peichl TK ring

                          Ring

I don't think so - Peichl's post-war rings would NOT have a casting flaw like this ring - no way. There are at least 2 different Peichl rings I've seen, along with his box w/his name &Waffen'SS insignia (clutched gauntlet). One had an early type skull, and the other one was a 1942 date with a later type skull. The engraving on his '42 model had a signature that looked more like Himmler's ink signature than his TK ring signatures. Neither of those had runic insignia that was stretched to make the Runics touch the border like this. Go to forum "SEARCH" and type in "Peichl Ring" and a few threads down, you'll see a picture of the '42 and a catalog pic of the earlier model. Unfortunately, still .

I posted a Peichl thread for everyone.

Your pictures are terrible. If you expect an opinion I must see clear and sharp closeups of all of the outside rune panels. The pictures you posted do the ring no justice. Let's see what he really looks like, please.
