    Allgemeine SS standarte 62 cufftitittle.....

    Hello,

I've seen some Allgemeine SS early pictures!

On one of this a standartenfuhrer wears a number "62" cufftittle on the left arm!

Did anyone have pictures of this kind of cufftitille or another picture showing it???

I think it was the Standarte commanding officer who would have worn these titles (although not necessarily a Standartenfuhrer in rank!). Officers beneath him would have worn a cufftitle with their Sturmbann number, and officers directly on his staff would have worn a blank cufftitle, or none at all...

            Arran,
It depends on the date, in the first orders of 1933/34 all the members on the staff of a regiment wore the standarte number, officers in silver and men in white. Hence the Obersturmbannfuehrer wearing it in the photo above. Later, in 1937, all members of the staff wore a blank title as you say and the numbered title was reserved for officers of the rank of Standartenfuehrer and above who did not show the standarte number on their collar patch. (Inevitably, as you point out, in command at this rank).

              Another question

My blank cuff has the shadow of a skull on it. Is it possible to take a TK cuff, and remove the skull?

This came as a set including a wedding photo of previous owner.

Just wondering if he would have wanted to remove the tk to disassociate himself with the KL's post war?

Your blank cuff title is not an original IMHO.
