Question about restoring an SS tunic

    Hi

I'm thinking about restoring an SS tunic. Would you please help me with an answer to this question?

Would is be OK to combine the following ?

    - A Prinz Eugen cuff title
    - Gebirgsjäger shoulder boards
    - SS collar tab with runes

Thanks a lot for your help

Didn't the Prinz Eugen Division use the Odal rune?

      They did as the standard.

But the question is if they used the runes as well ?

        This combination is fine, IMO.

          Thanks.

I guess a Gebirgsjäger Edelweiss should be sewed onto the right sleeve as well, then ?

Do you have a stripped SS tunic?

              Uniform

It looks like he's wearing a tank destroying patch on his right arm.

Not necessarily . . . plenty of photos exist showing this was not always the rule . . . and if I remember correctly, the PE was instituted before the SS GJ badge became available . . .

You also have to remember - members from other SS Divisions were transferred into the PE . . . so if you think about it, almost anything could have happened!

Some of the PE Reichsdeutschen officier cadre used runic tabs.
Edelweiss on the sleeve became regulation in october 1943 if I recall correctly, so, after that date it's a must.
