    Blank SS collar patch

This came with some good insignias out of an old collection, but there were some old 60s-70s fakes mixed in. Is this a good one?

        Blank Tab .....

Its differcult to tell from this photograph and as you say there were a few 60/70 repros mixed in. I must admit that the fraid strands look a bit " nylony " though the buckram looks okay but IMO I would leave well alone. David

Gary, Sorry, since I rarely get PM I don't check it didn't notice yours. Thanks, I did a burn test on one of the long loose threads I pulled from the back edge and it burned but did melt. I wasn't sure from your email which thread your were saying I should test. Is that good? Again I thank you for your help!

                        gary,

I tried it, the thread basically vaporized when it got close to the flame but didn't melt into a puddle, etc. What do you think. The guy I got this from stopped collecting before 1980 but started about 1950. Mostly it's good original stuff but a few early fakes have crept in.

Do the Bevo blank patches have the sort of same diagonal ribbing that the runic patches have or are they a more dense surface?
                        thank you for your help.

No further opinions after closeups and burn test?

I do not like the rank patch as i think i said to you in my PM but i also do not like the bukram as well, below is a original bevo woven rank patch,
