SS-Umsiedlungskommando cuffband???

Hi All,

Here is a Christmas present from a very dear friend in Canada...thanks Trev, really appreciated.

At first it was thought that this photo perhaps showed 2 SiPo/SD guys in uniform with a female office worker and another civilian.

However, on closer inspection the cuffband was not blank as first thought but appeared to have a long word on it.

I am thinking a scarce picture of the SS-Umsiedlungskommando cuffband in wear?

Any thoughts?

I tried to get a bit more detail out of it. I would agree, between the process of elimination and what you can see, you are right about the cufftitle. On the image you can see the "ung" is where it is suppose to be anyway.

Is that the best resolution you have? If it isn't, and you can e-mail me a bmp or the image at full resolution I might be able to do a lot more. I'm into planetary astrophtography and have some really good processing programs to clean up images and bring out the finest detail. Just need good data to begin with. I'd be happy to work on it for you though.

If the title is for Umsiedlungskommando, then maybe the fellow was not truly a member of the SS or SD . . . functioning as part of the 1940 Bessarabia re-settlement campaign, organized under the Hitler-Stalin Pact - essentially, one of the fellows charged with re-locating people under authority of the agreement between both Hitler and Stalin. Members of this organization were reputed to have worn uniforms that resembled those worn by the SD . . . but technically, were not considered to be attached to the organization.

Would this have anything to do with the Golden Yellow color?

If the SS-Umsiedlungskommando shown in the link is legit, can anyone post information (copies of original orders, regulations, manufacturing specs, etc) pertaining to this organizations uniquely colored cufftitle ???
