            Top should match bottom in age and wear

            ... perhaps The board is alright - better images or in hand evaluation should tell

                        I contacted the guy who sent me the pics. He told me that it was dust from his scanner, and sent other pictures.

                        In your opinion what would be a fair price for such a shoulderboard in this condition? Or should I pass?

                          Frederic, unless you can get it for the price of a regular Wehrmacht Lt. board (around $25) I would pass on it.

                          Judging by the pictures it looks to me like a Wehrmacht Reconnaissance board that was recently upgraded to SS.

                            That is not "dust" it is fake aging, if that is that same board there is no question it was aged. It looks like sandpaper aging which use wear in reality never created on the edges like that. The board showing age looks thinner as well. It may not even be the same one.
