Not sure as I don't have it in hand. Does anyone have concerns with the fez to eagle/ skull wear? Also eagle skull don't look to match?

Inside does look new, but if you remember, a huge number of these was found in Dachau by the U.S. troops at the very end of the war. Chances are that a large percentage of maroon fezzes that are circulating around were never actually issued in the first place. It appears to be a good, un-messed piece, at least as far the body of the fez itself is involved.

On the side note, what is the yellow thread to the right side of TK? An original thread used to attach the insignia? I haven't seen anything like that so far, though my experience with these is still considerably limited. It'd be nice to see more and better photos regardless, as I like these fezzes, whether maroon or field-gray.

Nice fez, go for it! The yellow thread is a common feature to the skulls on these. s/f Robert

Thank you for the prompt reply Robert, there's my answer when I need it! Gotta love the instant availability of omnipotent WAF-based knowledge.

Nice fez, go for it. They are pretty common but the one you posted still has extra thread attaching and securing the tassel to the back of the fez. That detail being so fragile is very often missing.

I would beg to disagree, the 'silky grey' as I call them are often found on fezes. There is no 'fez eagle' as such as both these styles were found on them ... in fact I've seen more of the former than the latter.

100 % original maron fez worn by 13.SS- Gebirgsdivision " Handschar" and as for the insignia, they had all type's of tk's & eagles, this is one of them
