SS tunic of a LSSAH

i would like to show you this very used M41 tunic in heer model. the familly of this ss soldier have send to me 2 pictures of their "uncle". he was in the LSSAH. i hope you like it. Best regards.

May I please point out that in these images the proportions of the relic tunic don't match the photographs.

Nice looking tunic and photograph. Besides being an army-style tunic, which plenty of SS tunics were, the area under the eagle looks very worn. It should be fuzzy under the eagle where it was protected.

If the eagle was removed post war to denazify it, the incriminating outline of the SS eagle would have also likely have been picked out, IMO. Leaving the outline of an SS arm eagle and wearing it to the point the nap was worn away seems odd - but possible, I suppose.

I'd look closely at the right breast and collar area before adding this to my collection as an SS piece.

Either way, it is certainly a nice worn tunic in it's own right.

i would agree, i'd be happier to see cloth under eagle less worn under where eagle on the arm was!!!
pay attention to breast area above pocket.....
a real tunic, not so sure if ss,

No sign of either a cufftitle or chevron shadow either ? As I said last night the tunic doesn't match the photographs in my honest opinion ... look at the distance between the collar and the top pocket ... it appears to be a much bigger tunic.

Ian is right IMO about this not being the same tunic, though it certainly could have belonged to the soldier in the photos as they certainly had more than one tunic.

Good comment on the cufftitle - if traces of the sleeve eagle are present, should be the same for the cufftitle especially for this division and model of tunic. He could have been promoted later which the chevron worn on a later tunic, but the cufftitle...

Someone just added an arm eagle and removed it,probably to make it more desirable and saleable since it is just a relic Heer pattern tunic.IMO


Also appears that the replaced buttons are also sewn with the same (new) black thread as the eagle.
