This sleeve eagle is generally considered a fake. It looks like a modified hammerhead. Can anybody provide some detailed facts that it is indeed a fake?

I think it first came to light in the 80's as you say an item that resembles a hammer head fake.<O</O
I have enclosed another one which I feel was a better attempt to fake a Hammerhead but NOT as you can see.<O</O

Thanks for the pictures of another modified hammerhead sleeve eagle. These modified hammerheads have machine embroidering that appears consistent with period manufacturing. If this is so, again I must respectfully request, why are these considered to be fakes?

Fakes &amp; Copies

Gary I see your point but these eagles shown in this thread are just fakes and copies and that’s exactly what they are meant to be especially the one I put up.
Obviously the better quality fakes the better the return.
