Hi everybody! Virgin on WA forum and re-enactor rather than collector so I hope you'll be gentle with me!
I portray an SS Sturmbannfuhrer in the Medical branch and I really want to be accurate in the smaller details. I'm purchasing a pair of gilt 'Snake and Stick' shoulder insignia online as I'm pretty sure that these would have been worn.
(I also have a single gilt 'snake and stick' if anyone has another singleton that they want to sell, as I have shoulder boards on my greatcoat to furnish as well).
There is additionally the diamond-shaped specialist sleeve badge with Officer's Braid around it. My principal question is whether this sleeve badge would have been worn by an officer and, if so, when and would it have been in addition to the gilt insignia.
I'd be grateful if someone could set me straight.
Any advice on my uniform requirements would be most welcome.
