SS Cuffbands - A chance for us all to learn

    Hi Guys.
I have four SS-Cuffbands here, but my thing is medals & Halemts not
cloth. So i have given some nice shots and if I could get some insight on
these from people who know, then we all have a chance to learn something
about one of the hard fields. Thats what the forum is for, so we can all
learn from one guys finds or mistakes.
Here is the first band for discussion: Der Fuhrer officers flatwire-woven
    with tags on the back.

    Hi john !

Hm ... interesting example. All the flatwire bands I have ever seen or own had the "salt and pepper" backing. I do not like the letters on Your cuff band: wire type and direction (looks like slash / but must be from top to down). I would walk away from this cuff title. Hope other members correct me if I wrong.

    Regards,
    Alex

Second Cuffband is the Reichsfuhrer-SS Machine-woven Bevo Wuppertal,
with the round umlauts over the u.

The "Hitlrejugend" does not look good for me (border inside looks wrong, but may be just a photo) as well as "Oberbayern" (scull misshaped).

John, 'Hitlerjugend' wasn't produced in BeVo...only Bevo-like...sorry.Ugly Oberbayern. Combination of paper & cloth tags..?..I'll learn something on this one too....but I'm dubious. I can't comment on the RF-SS..There's nothing obvious from what I see..(not that that says much with BeVo bands.

              Sorry,

The bevo Hitlerjugend: Fake, currently made and available. Hitlerjugend in block letters is a bevo like band, not BeVo-Wuppertal made.

The Der Fuhrer: This is hand embroidered, not flatwire. Why there is a stitched piece of material over the reverse to simulate flatwire type is unknown, but would leave me wanting to pass on it.

                The Reichsfuhrer-SS: Looks fine

The Oberbayern (skull) : There are 3 distinct, slightly different, types i have seen. This looks difrferent from accepted types.

I third Bob's opinions. The Oberbayern looks like the one that clown Heydrich has been trying to sell on epier forever.
                    Best regards,

                    Tony
