    Hi Luciusdegeer,
Thanks for feedback and clearing up the detail with Ulric.
I didn't recall this in any of his books.
I didn't know this existed, (GERMAN INSIGNIA OF WORLD WAR II) have you the publication or anyone else could scan and post.
I have never seen this, is that what is said in the book?
The Leggings I always thought to be from the 1st pattern ( plane tree ) smock cut down in size.
I believed them to be the lower part of the sleeve of that smock, one of the legging has a single print pattern numeral.
Never thought these to have come from a Zeltbahn.
Please post a scan if at hand.
I will see if I can posts some pics after New Years, very busy just this minute.
    cheers
    nco

        Markus,
it was bought directly from a vet in Ames Iowa, then bought from a friend of a friend of mine. Then resides in collection of DW then JG in the US, then it went to Germany to Kai W. I bought it then from him and he brought it for me to the US. Now as I reside back in Europe it resides with me at a safe protected place. The vet find was now around 20 years ago. Only one person was entitled to wear it as we know, Weber.

          Ni NCO,

this book can be found at Oakleaf Militaria.

          http://www.oakleafmilitaria.com/1202bk372.html

I can't get to my copy right now, it's in storage.

Your grouping can not be seen on the example pages on Oaleaf's website, but it's in there.

I figured as much, the leg covers are sleeves of a cut-down smock.

Can't wait to see more of your grouping.

          Greetings,

          Lucius

                                Favorite SS item

Well, I have been lucky enough to have many but this one is my all time favorite I have to say. Came with uniform, pants and cap, among other items.
