Reinhard Heydrich with black uniform and helmet combination

I was wondering if the two photos below are the only two photos known with Reinhard Heydrich wearing his black M18 helmet.





Any insight is welcomed.

Old RH , from these pictures it appears he has an amazing sized large head .
Either that or he boil washed his helmet to shrink it to fit more snugly .

p.s. with a mug like that, a "good" photograph would have been impossible. Although he did have a unique and intriguing mug......a bit like n oddity.

I believe this may be from Himmlers visit with entourage
to Quedlingburg Juli 1936.

Where are only this nice original ss helmets gone ?

I know where one black DD SS transitional with 100% decals went. A guy I know bought one at a local rummage sale for $20. He offered it to me at one time for $400 but it was sitting with a bunch of re-painted fakes he had and I assumed he just painted it up. I didn't even look at it He sold it at a local gun show and the buyer just about passed out before he could fork over the $400. Turned out to be the real deal.

I'm happy you enjoy it. I have this photo only about this event...
The Italian description is: "Mr. Himmler, Gestapo chief, in Vienna to review the Austrian Police, after the fidelity oath to A.H." and the date in the background of the picture is 28 March 1938.

My contribution about ss transitional helmets...a black without insignia and an ex black (repainted green by soldier but you can see black under) double decal. I have a scan of this side only at the moment...

The uniforms the Austrians are wearing is odd in that they have the armband,never saw that type uniform.
