SS Julcandle and document: how rare

How many of these things are out there?
    lets be frank,
I believe they are one of the rarest SS items out there.
To be sure, not for everyone, but for those who are interested, is this the rarest centerpiece of an SS Julkorner?
I think so. Rarer than any wood carved items.
    Who else has them?

(And they are not for sale)

Rarity means to me one-of-a-kind pieces in general and here in particular regarding SS pieces.

The Julecandle documents are rare for sure but actually especially the ones from 1937-1942 and not the ones from 1943 and 1944 as you suggest here.

Furthermore the Julcandle document can surely not be judged being "centerpiece of an SS Julkorner" - that´s just wrong.

The same goes for your suggestion that it is "rarer than any wood carved items" - that is wrong as well.

        Hmmm,
I do believe I also included the candle in my statements.
        Anyway ,
How many are there in your opinion?
How many are known to exist in your opinion?
less than 100? or less than 15?
        Is that not rare?

I am sure I can find thousands of wood carved items 'purported' to be SS before I will find one SS Jul candle and document.
If not, please show me where I can buy them now.Or to be fair, how many have ever been offered for sale in the last ten years? or ever?

          Besides:

A pleasure to see in your second pic that you still seem to be very happy and proud to own and present some other nice and rare pieces which you already bought in the past from me ;-)

            Please help

            Dear collectors:
Please help me out, to show me I am wrong that the SS julcandle and document WITH BOX is not rare,
please everyone who has one show me.
            Also,
Anyone with just the document (from any year ) please show me.
Anyone with the box and it's variants please show me
Anyone with an original candle please show me.

If they are not extremely rare,
then we will have a whole lot of beautiful photos to enjoy.

Thanks to all who can contribute their SS candle groupings in advance.

Well, back to your questions now:

Altogether I assume that there are between 15-20 Julcandle documents out there.

The Julcandle is more rare and I think not more than 5-10 examples which can only be detected as being indeed Julcandles and not only candles when still being in the package or at least being found with them.

One such offer from a german dealer can be researched in the Archiv on the website of historyshop - right now I am not aware of any offers in the scene or elsewhere.

And there is a difference between wooden items purported to be SS and the ones which are indeed original wooden SS items - in the first place it´s just all a matter of knowledge and evidence.

But that is impossible for every piece - good pieces speak their own language as well so a personal inspection is the best choice and will enable the collector to develope and get a feeling for the Zeitgeist.

                  Hello Besslein,
thanks for your message. That is one now known of as being for sale last year.
                  As for too much Geld,
I understand, these things are of varying levels of interest to collectors.
Interest and rarity are not always in agreement.
                  Again, thanks
                  MF

                    .
Hmmm, sounds like even your "assumption" of the amount known agrees with my assesment that these are extremely rare. As your assumed amount of 15 to 20 Julcandle documents sounds very rare to me. Does it not to you?
But I included the box and candle also, so , again,
how many box, candle and documents groupings are there in existence?
It does seem to be extremely rare.
                    Does it not?

Indeed, the candle in box along with document are most rare IMO. I was offered a candle in the box for 2K. I didn't buy it but sold to the next collector it was offered to. Damn, I should have bought it to go with my Juleuchter!

Imagine there would be 15-20 colored examples of the rider statuette "Malachowsky-Husar" from Allach around. That would have judged to be a mass of pieces.

But since there are only two known colored examples known worldwide they can be judged to be extremely rare.

                          You got the message, Michael?

Hmmm, is that one grouping of Allach really in the same category? Is it a grouping that would go in a julcorner?
And even if it would (I dont know-but doubt it), there will always be somthing rarer in the whole giant world of SS collecting.
Not to mention that some SS collectors dont care about these items at all.
Still I can see you agree with me, but just cant bring yourself to agree due to personal issues .

                              Hello Eric,
                              thanks for that.
So two known candle groupings for sale in last year or so, unless it was the same one as Besslein described.

What did the box look like? the green one like mine? or the other version without SS markings.

                              Thanks,
                              MF
