I have a question when it comes to ”bad construction”. We know a lot of SS items (straps in particular) were made by kz inmates. For them, claiming to have “tailor experience” might have been the difference between life and death. I guess many items in our collections today have been sewn together in kz camps and I guess they had no RZM-standard as long as the straps looked presentable. Especially a pair of kz nco straps could easily have been sewn together by a (maybe inexperienced) camp tailor. If some of the materials used are completely wrong for the time I would have understood it, but is it fair to categorically dismiss a pair of straps because of “bad construction”?
Pre vs post May 1945 is the big challenge in this hobby of ours
