    Armband Hilfstruppen?

    Dear all,

Posting this for a friend who wants some opinions and a description of what it is. Could this be some kind of Hilfstruppen armband? Does the stamp look ok? What is the approx. value of this if original?

    Cheers,

    Frank

      Frank.

I've never seen another, but I don't like this.

The stamp appears to be one of the 'early pattern' 'NSDAP - Reichsfuhrer-SS' ones which have been widely copied.

You wouldn't expect to see an early stamp on a wartime band.

Also, you'd expect a unit stamp, not an RfSS one.

The 'V-2' (rocket??) also seems 'too good to be true', so to speak.

And the condition puts me off.

Also, 'Bairoko' is a harbour in the Solomon Islands, and a US warship was named after it.

There has been a lot of fake holocaust/eastern worker stuff made in recent years, and I think this falls into the same category.

      Regards,

      Robin.

I would concur with my learned colleague, this band was discussed before and thought to be fake....there's a whole series of them KL this,Kapo that and Ghetto the other..all with this stamp.2 or 3 months of e-bay or Manion's auctions and you should just about have the current set.

        Sorry,
