SS Poster

Ron Fink, in Calumet City, Illinois, had one of the lithographs of this SS poster. It was a thing of beauty. Wonderfully done.
I don't know where Ron is these days, but for those of you who don't know, Ron was collecting when we were all buying INVADERS FROM MARS bubble gum cards. I remember he had one of Himmler's big packing trunks with the plate on the front of the trunk with the info of who it belonged to. And before you say anybody could get a big packing trunk and put a plate on it, his stuff was legit! He bought everything from vets. Bob Hritz might remember him. Really great stuff in the store! Those were the days before everybody got into the hobby. He had General Beck's(?) ribbon bar & a signed presentation photo from Goering to someone, in the .900 silver frame. Mouthwatering stuff. He never did get anybody to buy the trunk. It just wasn't that collectable.
But I digress. This is a great poster in any condition. If you don't want it, send it to me!

Whoa Nellie!!! No need to get your knickers in a sarcasm knot!
I was just stating that there is another version(also original) available that is to me much more esthetically pleasing, and without appearing to have crooked-eyes. That's all.
I apologize that I find the silkscreen version inferior. Here is the litho version. ........actually, this one is not currently available, it has been sold. That being said, if the price is right then the silkscreen one would be a great addition to any collection.

I am the new owner of the poster pictured and very happy to have it.. it hangs over the fire place of my Waffen corner. And yes it does have a more pleasing appearance than of the first posted but it still is a very important piece of militaria. I would own any and all if original..

Congratulations on a very good score.
If one knows the process of silkscreening, then it will really be appreciated, the labor intensive steps that are required to make a multi-colored print. Much more difficult that a lithograph.
.......I know from experience.

B. Herman at Grenadier antiques. I have picked a few nice and rare pieces from him over the years. And no John, I was able to work out a trade. The first poster is a great piece also. It deserves to be professionaly restored and framed. He is lucky to have that one too.

Just to throw a bit of trivia in - so far I've seen three variations of the German version with different recruiting offices:

Sud (Munchen)
Sudwest (Stuttgart)
Rhein (Weisbaden)

I guess there are still more out there for other regions North, East and West etc.
