Too many mint ones around in recent years.

I would pass on them. Sorry. Better safe than sorry.

IMO, nice reproduction, the early LAH monogram dont matching with the original LAH embroidered.

What is so silly about it? Do you feel good looking at a doubtful piece of
LAH straps for EUR 3k in your display case or do you prefer to look at a
100 pct. authentic cufftitle purchased for the same money instead?
I passionately collect LAH related items, still I have calmly passed on many
of these early board sets in past years, simply because there was never
that '100 pct real' confirmation. Why have doubtful pieces in ones collection?
To impress others? I see no point in this. I believe in 100 pct original pieces,
no doubts to them. When I started collecting I caught myself talking me into
buying doubtful pieces, just to own a great item-at a bargain price. Gladfully
more experienced collectors taught me to pass on an item if something does
not convince me. I still thank them today. That's mature collecting.

A good friend of mine bought the exact same minty set of straps recently
from a German site. I tried to safe him from the mistake. He did not listen
and believed (wanted to) so much they were real he insisted on buying them.
He sold of a couple of real badges, etc. to come up with the funds. It still
hurts me today. I will see him in 2 weeks and will persuade him to return the
straps for a refund or something real.

Good meant advice. Hope not misunderstood. Fakers and dealers
drive Porsches and Mercedeses from our mistakes. Remember that.
                    They pay with your money!

thank you for your opinions differ
for those who are persuaded that have copies
tell me how much he relies
because it is perfect construction (piping, holly, hocks button, tissue ....)
I seek to know why a certain person denigrates this pair
                      thank you to you all
                      best regards

That's where the illogic starts sometimes, no pers. offense, but
how can a pair of early LAH straps cost GBP 450 ?! That's where the
                          alarmbells have to start ringing.

How many collectors with deep pockets are out there fighting over a few originals?
And then there they are for a bargain GBP 450?!

The ones my friend bought were about EUR 2k and bad and too cheap as well
for what an original pair would bring imo.

Compare these with ones in reference books and some posted by longtime
collectors on the forum. You'll spot the differences. Not too difficult to see.

4 years have passed and I would be interested if your opinion on this pair has changed since?

For your information: Ulric of England has a similar pair for sale atm, and imo he is one of the most experienced dealers concerning SS items.

                            http://www.ulricofengland.com/prodsh..._/g007316.html

Of course, there are some slight differences in the embroidery to these:

But this could also be a makers difference. The usual copies are miles beyond this maker quality.
