    Konzentrationslager Fuhlsbüttel

    Hi,
Not the most exiting Wehrpass, but quite interesting, if interested in material related to the KZ system:

    AJ,
Isn't LaPo the abbreviation for Landespolizei? I think the camp at Fuhlsbuettel was under SS control at this time.

      Hi,
      According to this link:
      http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/KZ_Fuhlsb%C3%BCttel

The Konzentrationslager Fuhlsbüttel was not under the control of „Inspekteur der Konzentrationslager" of Theodor Eicke but was put under the control of the Hammburger Staatspolizei in 1934.

I LaPo could be Landes Polizei, but the normally you wasn't drafted to serve with the police. The Wehrpass shows that he served as Wachtmanschaft as part of his "Wehrphlicht"

Thanks for the link, very interesting.
I was going by Martin Broszat, Anatomy of the SS State, who puts the camp under SS control in 1935 and Koehl's 'Black Corps' who describes Fuhlsbuettel as being staffed by the SS in 1935 although not under the direct control of Eicke, (cit: T-580/roll 68).
The SS guard detachment's regional name was "Hansa" as of March, 1935.
I know it is mentioned elsewhere that the camp was transferred back to the Gestapo by 1936 and when i locate that citation I will post it.
Nonetheless, thanks for posting your interesting document.
        Derek
