The material is repro too, I'd guess a SM print., however, going from these pics the cap seem sto be "custom made".

The problem that I tried to address is that when you have a original piece that has been washed several times the way I described earlier in this thread it can look quite similar to the pieces shown.
But that is a rare occurence, I have only seen a handful of period items that looked similar to these, still, these were "very real".
Camo caps in palm and certain other patterns can be a bit hard to judge from a faded pattern alone along with bad pics as the sections of the pattern shown on these items is naturally quite small.

what i`m trying to say is that the sm/1944 material looks like stone washed jeans after such a hard treatment :-)
the colours are still strong but there is a white/gray shade over the camo
and the buttonholes and the stamp and the eyelets ( if you ve got detailed pics of it )
like i said easy to detect

Yes, but that is what can happen to original items too when you wash them a number of times with too much washing powder, so the "white/grey shade" is not necessarily the "kiss of death". It's what I call the "good housewife crime".
Yes then they are easy to spot as the button holes etc. show no natural wear.
