Just to make sure it is clear, Korner is to the left of Goring in the image not the man in the middle.

        Thank you Gisle,

Yes, we feel very fortunate to have acquired the tunic. Now, it would be very nice to try to establish the identity of the original owner; I realize the impossibilities of that task, but I can hope.

          congratulations

Mighty hearty congratulations on your acquisition!! Even a newbie like me whose untrained eye got his untrained heart to thumpin! I notice it was in CT, as I live down the road in lil Rhody! Perhaps some day my stars will align, and I will pan gold like you!! Enjoy!!

Just have the name researched, any other Korners will show up as well. The bar does not match Pillis service well without the EK II but some officers they had so many awards they actually used multiple Bars worn for different functions etc.

                  Johnny R,

I didn’t hold too much faith in the bar belonging to “Pilli,” although I’ve yet to find a complete listing of his actual awards. I thought it odd that the bar started with the War Merit Cross and there was no EKII.

I believe it was a pretty lucky coincidence for the vet to turn up a medal bar with the NSDAP awards & the 8-year SS service medal AND the tunic; he seemed to have a good eye for important stuff.
