Freies Indien Sleeve Shield

Last month I found this at a little show in Germany. It is screen printed and not one of the fake laser printed shields. I have never seen this large size pattern before. It was uniform removed and the threads that remain a very faced where not protected by the shield material.

Does anyone have any information on this type of shield?

Bob, a few years ago There was a series of these from East Europe [postwar].
Printed, same material... They've been shown here before somewhere..

When I visited the Musee de la Poche de Royan in France about ten years ago they had a 'Bevo' Freies Indien shield and a printed one, with the colours out of register with the black outline. The Bevo one was obviously genuine; I couldn't be sure about the printed version. There was a lot of junk in that museum, along with some real gems.

A friend was kind enough to send me one of the Eastern European computer laser printed sleeve shields to compare. There is nothing similar about the two, including the actual pattern. The fake laser printed is taken from a BeVo shield image.

These have been faked for awhile now.
The "lazer" one, which I've never seen before, is just the more modern fake.

The laser copy, on the right, was bought in Milan, Italy, in 1999.

thanks for posting the photos from the Bundesarchive. very interesting to see the conscripting ceremony showing the shields in full view.
while laser reproductions can be easily distinguished; may i suspect that high quality fakes on bevo are around. JMO.
